Education and Formation

Adult Formation

Adult Catholics who desire to learn more about their faith are invited to participate in a variety of Adult Education & Formation experiences. We also have occasional Scripture studies. During Advent and Lent we hold a series and, from year-to-year, a variety of Formation events. For information about any of these programs, please contact Deacon Dodge, via e-mail, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Children’s Education

Children's Religious Education for children in pre-kindergarten through seventh grades and Confirmation classes for students in eighth through 12th grades takes place each Sunday from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM during the school term. Classes are held in Scanlan Hall, on the lower level of the cathedral.  Children of the Cathedral parish and Madeleine Choir School receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion, which completes their Christian Initiation, and must be enrolled at least in second grade. Registration fee for texts, supplies and materials is $35 each for the first two children per family and $25 each for additional children.  For further information, please contact Cathy Paiz, Coordinator of Children's Religious Education and Youth Ministry, at (801) 699-9059 or e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. Returning Catholics

For Catholics who have been away from the church and have returned or are thinking about returning there are often unresolved reasons that led to your departure. The Cathedral is beginning a discussion group for Catholics interested in returning to the church. The group will be facilitated by Mr. Ron Yengich and Deacon Scott Dodge. If you are interested in a meaningful discussion about what it means for you to return to the faith, please contact Deacon Scott Dodge at 801-328-8941 ext. 104 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
